Itinerary Day 1

Great ocean road 

Depart am from Melbourne to explore the Great Ocean Road including the Cumberland river lookout, Cape Patton lookout, Cape Otway light house and view Koala’s in the Otway National Park.

Day one itinerary includes, 

Am – depart from Melbourne

Drive the Great Ocean Road via Geelong, Torquay and Anglesea

Airleys Inlet, stop at Memorial Arch, (the start of the Great Ocean Rd)

Lorne 

View Cape Patton  lookout (Historic site - Ship wreak of the schooner, ‘Mary Cummings’ and the barquentine, ‘Speculant’)The Great Southern Ocean’s cold water reefs, contain plants and animals not found elsewhere on earth 12, 000 species of marine animals and plants are protected in 13 marine parks, and 11 marine sanctuaries.

Apollo Bay

Visit the Cape Otway light house. (Built in 1884 after several tragic shipwrecks including the ship wreck of ‘Eric the Red’) Blanket Bay Road to view Koalas in the wild

Walk to giant messmate at Melba Gully

Castle Cove viewing platform which overlooks Dinosaur Cove which contains fossil remains of some of Australia’s cretaceous dinosaurs. 

Overnight on the Great Ocean Rd at Kangaroobie camp or similar.

Kangaroobie is a magnificent 850 Hectare grazing property and camp situated on the Great Ocean Road at Princetown, between the Port Campbell and Otway National Parks. 

We are only a five minute drive from the world famous Twelve Apostles.

Kangaroobie has been operated as a farm by the Bowker Family since 1858.  Tourist accommodation was established on the farm in 1978 to cater for ecotourism, school groups, special interest groups and families.

Groups of up to 170 are fully catered for, including access for the disabled.  Kangaroobie specialises in educational packages for schools and other large groups.
