Experience Description
Pack up your sunscreen, runners and don't forget your sense of adventure when embarking on this amazing abseiling experience. The activitiy begins with a safety briefing, followed by practicing your skills on the level ground. Once confident, you will move to the abseil wall to take the challenge. You will be led by an experienced tour guide, rappelling down 20+ metre walls. All specialist equipment is provided for you. This experience does not require you to have prior tuition in abseiling - you will be taught everything you need to know on the day.
Wear comfortable clothes that can get a bit dirty and are a loose fit (be ready for hot and cold weather). Bring comfortable walking shoes or runners, a rain and wind jacket, sun hat, jumper or warm jacket, sunscreen and don't forget your camera.
All participants will need to sign a waiver of liability assumption of risk form prior to departure.
Abseiling the Grampians
Abseiling is a great introduction to the vertical world. Originally simply a way of getting to the bottom of a climb, now a thrill of its own and accessible to people of all ages. Abseiling is an excellent preliminary activity prior to a rock climbing adventure. A whole new perspective of the world is realized as you lean over the edge of a cliff, parallel to the ground below. You learn at your own pace in an atmosphere that allows you to challenge yourself to a level you are comfortable with. Of course, our guides will encourage you to push your limits so that you can gain the most out of your day.
Who Can Abseil
Anybody who is keen - individuals, couples, backpackers, friends, school groups, work groups, community groups, special needs groups, sports teams, corporate groups and more. Australian Great Southern Tours currently does work with all of these types of groups. We will suit the level of challenge to you or your group. Also we tailor to the needs of you or your group. For example whether 1-2 abseils as part of a school group or many abseils over ½ a day for you and a friend
